Since then, we've spent the last six weeks contacting Christian organizations about advertising with OurChurch.Com, and God has blessed us with 11 new Christian advertisers. The revenue from these ads makes it possible for us to offer the free and affordable web hosting services with the outstanding, friendly support you have come to know and appreciate. It has also enabled us to completely remove all Google Ads from our site and the sites we hostThe reality is these organizations have taken a chance with us. If they don't receive a good response, they will not renew and we may be forced to reinstate the Google ads. So, we need your help in supporting these fine Christian organizations so they find value in advertising with OurChurch.Com and continue to advertise with us in the future. But we're not asking you to check out our sponsors just for our sake. These Christian organizations provide outstanding products and services that will help you live out your Christian faith - Christian books, helpful resources for your church, opportunities to grow spiritually and extend God's love to others. Once you visit their sites, we believe you'll love what they have to offer. The fact that you're supporting our sponsors will just be a bonus. So, please take a look at these organizations' websites. If you have an OCC-hosting website, prayerfully consider supporting the advertisers on your site and encouraging your visitors to do the same.In His Service,OurChurch.Com

Get an available domain here.

Some Interesting News OurChurch.com emailed us.

OurChurch.Com is very excited to announce two new developments:

The launch of our new Christian Web Trends blog and subscription services for both OCC announcements and our blog.
A “blog,” or web log, is an online journal. We’ve started the Christian Web Trends blog to discuss trends in communication technology and how they impact Christian individuals and organizations. Our goal is to help Christian make better use of communications technology in their churches, schools, ministries, businesses, and personal lives. Our hope is to post weekly articles as well as comment on other news and articles we read. http://blog.ourchurch.com

We’ve also begun email notification of OCC news and announcements. Previously, you had to try to remember to check our homepage or forums for new announcements. Now you’ll receive announcements in your email.

By default we’ve subscribed all active OCC users to receive the optional OCC announcements and blog updates in their email. If you’re not interested, you can unsubscribe quickly and easily at: http://devotions.ourchurch.com/subscribe.php
RSS feeds are also now available for both OCC Announcements http://www.ourchurch.com/news/news-rss.php and the Christian Web Trends blog http://blog.ourchurch.com/?feed=rss2

In His Service, OurChurch.Com

Get an available domain here.

Latest email sent to us from Blog Flux:

Hello jporterindustries,

As mentioned earlier, Blog Flux today launched a new section - Blog Flux Themes at http://themes.blogflux.com/
I have posted details at http://blog.blogflux.com/p_soft_launch_blog_flux_themes.html Our idea is to create a single interlinked resource for blog themes. A place where you can not only find themes to download, but also find related/similar themes, and also rank them and see what others have ranked.

The section is admittedly sparse right now, but we hope that you can help fill it up. To add themes, just head on over to your User CP - http://www.blogflux.com/usercp.php - and add a theme from there. Also, be sure to tell your favorite theme/skin creators to add their creations to the site.

The section will be undergoing some improvements and enhancements over time, but the basic system is ready for your usage.
As always, we are more than happy to hear any feedback/comments/love letters you want to send our way.

Regards,Ahmed Farooq

PS. Interesting news.

Hello jporterindustries,

Whew! It has been a while since I last emailed everyone (or at least feels like it), and quite a bit has happened.

First off - MapStats is fixed! Not only fixed, but move to its own server. We did a lot of tweaks - just to give an idea, what was taking 100 seconds before now takes only 1.66 seconds. The page should also load much faster - from a 5-7 second load time down to ~1 second. GrabPerf agrees: http://www.grabperf.org/homepage.php?page=scatter&test=136&hours=24 (it is that little green/yellow splotch on the right).

I also wanted to thank everyone for being patient with us. Lots of people let us know about the issues we were having - as always, we keep updates on our blog for anything that might be going on: http://blog.blogflux.com/

We are not out of the woods just set - we are monitoring things, but likely LinkLog will also be moved soon. With this last server move, it will mean Blog Flux is now split across four servers - one for the Page Rank checker (and ancillary subdomains), one for MapStats, one for LinkLog, and one for the main site/directory.

Speaking of our Page Rank checker - I was looking over some numbers, and we have checked the PR for almost 25,000,000 unique pages!
Just thought I would share some interesting numbers :)
Moving along, Blog Flux also crossed the landmark '10,000' blogs verified and listed. This is good news because the more blogs we have, the better our 'related' feature works for every blog listed. Eg AJAX Review - http://dir.blogflux.com/weblog/4026.html The related blogs actually are related (fancy that!) and a reader of the listed blog would likely be interested in these other blogs. It.s a feature we don't get a lot of attention for, but I think it is one of the best ways to find new and interesting blogs. Blog Flux Suggest is also another (albeit weird) way of finding blogs if you are exploring.

With all this talk of where Blog Flux is, I wanted to also mention my latest project - iBegin. I have a spiel all written out online, but iBegin is basically an attempt to create a local search that is actually useful. You can find more information at http://www.ibegin.com/about/ and http://www.ibegin.com/wth/ The system is currently in private beta, and if you are interested in trying it out, register on the site :). Toronto is our beta-test city so if you are a fellow Torontonian definitely go register. Feedback has between 'cool' to 'great' so it might just be worth checking out!

I also wanted to say that we will be launching another Blog Flux section within 72 hours. It isn't exactly 'revolutionary', but I think there is a void for what we are releasing it. It also marks the first section created by Jacob (who has been approving blogs and answering emails for a while now). More on him in a few weeks!
As always, we are more than happy to hear any feedback/comments/love letters you want to send our way.

Regards,
Ahmed Farooq

PS. LinkLog has over 500 blogs actively using it, and has tracked almost 500,000 clicks. Our Alexa rank is consistently around 10,000 and so it's great to see our services popular with bloggers :-)Our 'big' update has been the addition of an XML-RPC server to our Blog Flux Pinger. You can get more info on how to use it here - http://pinger.blogflux.com/xml-rpc.php Furthermore, we have strengthened the spam protection a lot more, and it should help keep things running smoothly. There are quite a few miscellaneous updates that have happened that I have been adding to our blog - http://blog.blogflux.com/ Too small to mention in this email, so if you are interested, go read it there (and/or subscribe to our feed).Lastly, there will be an announcement soon about us joining/merging into a network. Before gasps of 'oh noes' and hate-email is sent my way, I want to be very clear about it. Blog Flux as a site will not change. No popups, no silly network bar on top, no nothing in your face. Let me say it distinctly - "None of our services will change." It will still be status quo. The reasons behind this decision are slightly complex, but it lets us share our resources, add more features, and also approve blogs quicker (the backlog had gotten as big as 1600 blogs awaiting approval, but it.s been all dealt with since then). We are working on a new feature we hope to have ready in roughly a month - I'm quite excited about it, and I look forward to emailing you all about it when the time comes!Regards,Ahmed FarooqPS. Convert multiple file types to Adobe PDF and then
simultaneously merge them into a single PDF document.

1) Save the files you want to convert into one folder, so they're easy to
locate.

2) Choose File > Create PDF > From Multiple Files. Or click "Create
PDF" and choose "From Multiple Files."

3) Click "Browse" (Windows) or "Choose" (Mac OS), and then select
one or more files. Click "Add." Click "Browse" or "Choose" again to
add files from a different folder.

4) Order the files as you want them to appear by clicking and dragging
the icons. For those using our PageRank Checker - http://pr.blogflux.com - we have cleared our cache so the new PageRank values should be showing. On that same vein, we have updated our tracker to be a 301 redirect. Those concerned about SEO values etc and us using a redirector - you can relax about that now!

Secondly, I was off to some conference and have fallen behind a bit. In fact, as of right now there are 261 blogs waiting approval. It is a balancing act - keeping quality high with manual verification while also making sure blogs get approved fast enough. With that, I am happy to announce that a new team member has been added to the site. He will be helping with approving blogs and adding even more features. So those still waiting to be approved - sorry, we will get to you.

Lastly, and most exciting to me, is the announcement of our link-tracking service, LinkLog. Available at http://linklog.blogflux.com the service allows you to track all links clicked on your site by just adding some JavaScript to your site. The service is very cool - it gives you a breakdown on a per day/week/month/year basis. Furthermore, if you look up info on a link, it gives you a breakdown on that link, on what page it was clicked from and what link text was used. We also track unique clicks and total clicks. Check out the demo at http://linklog.blogflux.com/demo.html

Best of all, LinkLog is the perfect compliment to MapStats - http://mapstats.blogflux.com With the two combined you can find out where your visitors are from, how they are arriving at your site, what pages they are viewing, and where they are going to leave your website.

As always, the service is free. And as always, we are working on improving the service and adding totally new (and useful) services.

With this done now and out of the way, I will be concentrating on firstly answering all emails I have received and then working on getting the rest of the blogs approved.

As always, do not hesitate to email me your concerns, questions, or comments.

Cheers.

Regards,
Ahmed Farooq

PS. If one drive fails or crashes, it is immediately replaced with an up-to-the-minute backup on the alternate drive. That means the site stays live and current around the clock.

Our customers will never have to worry about rebuilding their servers or downtime due to disk failure.
